Barry Cohen - Managing Member

After graduating college in the early 80's and spending some years gaining experience in the financial industry, Barry entered into the field of Real Estate Development. He began working with large developer’s in New York City, developing & building Luxury Apartment Buildings, Condominiums, and Cooperatives in Manhattan and New Jersey. After gaining this experience and realizing what he had been able to accomplish for others, Barry decided to venture out on his own.


In 1997 JBC Development, LLC was formed for the purpose of acquiring sites for development. He purchased property in Mahopac, NY and proceeded to complete a 14 lot subdivision of single family colonial style homes. Shortly thereafter, located in Westchester County, NY he acquired a 60 acre development site right in the heart of beautiful horse country known as North Salem. Upon completion of this project into 12 estate size parcels and realizing the housing market was moving north into beautiful Dutchess County, he purchased a 40+ acre site in trendy Pawling, NY where he developed and built a 15 lot community of single family homes. In addition to large development parcels, JBC Development, LLC carefully selects individual home sites in which they build multi-million dollar custom homes located in strong upscale areas such as Bedford and Pound Ridge, NY.

The years of experience, education, attention to details, knowledge of the financial markets, his ability to interact with people and personal involvement on every level has enabled JBC Development, LLC to grow into a full scale building and development firm. The firms “hand on approach” has contributed to the quality product it delivers. Its principal personally oversees every phase of building and development leaving no stone unturned. Its demand for quality is reflected in the highly skilled trades that work for JBC and they are proud to be able to deliver this quality at every level of home that its client seek.

JBC Development, LLC current projects include a 16 acre 3 lot subdivision of luxury homes on large parcels located in Lake Mahopac. These parcels enjoy both private settings as well as gorgeous views of the lake. These parcels also enjoy rights to Lake Mahopac. Homes are currently starting at $989,000. Other projects on the horizon include a 42 acre wooded site located in Mahopac, NY bordering and immediately adjacent to Somers, NY in Westchester County. Here JBC plans on developing upscale homes on large lots priced more competitively than what is available in neighboring Westchester. Prices will range from $1,000,000 to $1,500,000.

Also on the agenda located within ½ mile of the Taconic State Parkway in beautiful Beekman, NY is a 27 acre planned 15-20 lot subdivision of homes priced in the $650,000 to $800,000 price range.

Barry’s finance, development and construction background enables him to acquire sites, arranging both private equity and bank financing as well as develop and completely build out the project. He continues to seek out land where there is value and repeat the process over and over.
